History of the World
In the annals of ancient lore, chronicled within the dust-laden tomes of yore, lies the tale of Sohla, the Watcher of the Cosmos. In an era long forgotten, Sohla, in Her inscrutable wisdom, permitted the deities of the firmament a time of unchecked liberty. In this epoch, known as the Era of Divine Tempest, the celestial beings engaged in a tumultuous dance of creation and destruction. They waged war upon each other, mingled their essences to sire new divinities, and elevated mortals to the echelons of godhood. Their actions, unchecked and fervid, ignited the cataclysmic War of Heaven and Earth, threatening the very fabric of Alva, the crown jewel of the cosmos.
Beholding the chaos, Sohla, in Her infinite prudence, decreed a cosmic bifurcation. The realms were cleaved in twain, bestowing one half unto the divine and the other unto the primordial beings. These realms, though separate in the tapestry of reality, existed concurrently in distinct prime planes. To govern this new order, Sohla crafted the Tablets of Fate, artifacts of immeasurable potency. These tablets not only maintained the separation of the realms but also inscribed the duties and powers of each deity and primordial, serving as a tangible covenant of their responsibilities.
Alas, in a fateful turn, Nethereon, the deity of tyranny, ambition, and control, alongside Morthos, the harbinger of death and decay, purloined these sacred tablets. They sought to siphon a fragment of Sohla's omnipotence, a hubris that unveiled their disregard for the sacrosanct powers entrusted unto them. This sacrilege laid bare to Sohla the inherent folly of unbridled divinity.
In a decree of unparalleled gravity, Sohla expelled every deity from the celestial sphere, condemning them to tread the Prime Material Realm in mortal guise. This edict served a trifold purpose: to instill humility within the divine, to bind them closer to their supplicants, and to embark upon a celestial quest for the retrieval of the stolen Tablets of Fate. Thus began an age where gods walked amongst mortals, an epoch that would forever alter the tapestry of existence on Alva.
